  • Stroll casually through the village and visit the quaint shops open for business normally between Thursday and Monday.

  • Dine out at one of the many restaurants or request a picnic basket a day in advance from the host, Michael, and visit the wetland.

  • Take your dogs to Martin’s dam where they can frolic in the water and run free. Dogs are welcome in most of the town, provided they are on leashes.

  • Take a drive or mountain bike out to Zaaihoek dam.

  • Book a bird guide through SA Birdlife or simply sit in one of the hides within the Wetland route.

  • Book an Historical tour of the town.

  • Book a horse and cart ride or horse-riding.

  • Visit the Old Train Station, Die Oude Stasie and chill with a soft serve ice-cream.

Mountain Biking, Walking, and hiking routes are available at the INFO CENTRE on Van Riebeeck Street in the historic Bisocope as well as pamphlets detailing other offerings in and around Wakkerstroom.

The Info Centre is open Friday afternoons, Saturday and Sunday.
