MAHEM

Sleeps 9

Mahem is the sound of the Grey Crowned Crane as well as the Afrikaans name for this magnificent bird which is often seen from the properties down at the Wetland.

This Boer style period property was built in 1890 and still contains most of its period features. There is a large kitchen with gas stove and electric oven, dishwasher, fridge / freezer and microwave. Just off the kitchen entering into the dining room is a fully functional five plate Union 7 coal stove (burns wood quite successfully) as well as a fireplace in the lounge and firewood , firelighters and matches are provided for the first night. These, coupled with underfloor heating in the kitchen, dining room and bathroom ensure super cosy nights in chilly weather.

Outdoors, guests can soak up the view from the back patio or relax on the undercover veranda around the front and side of the house. A weber braai and briquettes are provided.
